As the yearly festival approaches for the borough of Wandsworth, many are wondering what Wandsworth Town has in store to support its community

Did you know that there's extra special magical in the air, this year? The festival will not only highlight the joy of the holiday season, but it will also spread warmth and support to the community, thanks to a charitable partnership with AGE UK Wandsworth.

The festival, which is a yearly highlight for residents, has taken on a new initiative to show its dedication to supporting the elderly members of the community, ensuring that no one is excluded from experiencing the local holiday spirit. This partnership aims to promote inclusivity and address the needs of seniors.

According to AGE UK’s website, the events also align with the celebration of ‘six decades of AGE UK Wandsworth supporting older people in the community to stay healthy and independent in later life’.

This year’s festival promises to be a winter wonderland like no other, with a range of activities and events that cater to all ages. A sustainable and boutique market will be running at the Ram Quarter, managed by Design Led, a London based events platform. This is the place to be if you’re looking to shop eco-consciously, and get ahead with purchasing your Christmas gifts. Radio Riverside will host live performances on a stage throughout the day, ranging from music to dance to theatre. You can count on there being numerous opportunities for family fun too, with the possibility of a Father Christmas encounter for the younger ones. And, don’t miss out the Christmas tree lights being turned on at 4:30pm!

Not only will all of this be happening, but the excitement will continue within the walls of the Southside Shopping Centre, with another Nutcracker trail, a game of Christmas clues, where participating could result in winning one of the many prizes which are on offer.

Other sponsors of the events include; Youngs Pubs, Commonandon, Wandsworth Mills, and New Acres Wandsworth as the principal sponsor. This free community event has been made possible by these organisations’ support.

This season, however, is about more than just shopping, light displays and festive music; it is about coming together to serve and uplift every member of the community. It is a celebration of unity, generosity and the everlasting pure magic of the holiday season.
